Starting with an old cotton vest and old jeans, pockets were cut out and embellished. Embroidery and vintage buttons were added. The backside features more denim pockets, lace scraps, and applied flowers.

I've been dying to create this kind of distressed and messy look The materials are from my brother’s old Pacino double-waist jeans, old denim scraps that I got from my grandma. I made the jeans into a mermaid tail skirt. Then I added long distressed strips of different denim textures and colors wrapped around the skirt. I lay the strips and pin them on the skirt—then I hand-stitch everything
