Made using discarded jeans from family members. In layers made from one of my uni projects (printed fabric ) and backing using remnant scraps : lining was from a charity shop. The deconstructed jeans were made up into pattern pieces : layered ats described above. Then stitched in lines. The cutting process reveals the coloured fabric underneath. The frayed appearance is achieved by washing and brushing the denim.

Here’s my entry for the upcycle challenge! These are 1 of 1 flared, color removed “skin” denim, weathered in ivory black. The “eye” patterns are stabbed into the fibers to replicate traditional stick poke tattooing. Even if we don’t win, I hope to atleast motivate somebody who wants to start upcycling clothes! Thank you and keep sewing!!!!
