The Story

This piece transforms a pre-loved denim jacket into a statement garment using denim scraps that would otherwise have been discarded. I created handmade embellishments from denim in-seams,hems and denim strips and layered them across the jacket to create a playful, textured visual element to the jacket.

The main techniques used were fabric upcycling, cutting and embellishment. Rather than treating the scraps as waste, I reimagined them as the focal point of the design, giving the jacket a completely new identity while keeping the original denim garment in use.

This piece represents my approach to upcycling ,turning overlooked materials into intentional design details and creating something unique without relying on new fabric. It celebrates creativity, resourcefulness, and the beauty of giving existing garments a second life.
