From Stained to Statement | Vintage Champion Upcycled Two-Piece A heavyweight vintage Champion sweatshirt, once covered in stubborn bleach, rust and paint stains, reimagined into a unique two-piece set. Using fabric reclaimed from a lightweight ombré sweatshirt, I created square patches in earthy shades of olive green, forest green and brown. Each patch was carefully measured, spaced and sewn diagonally to conceal stains while maintaining a balanced geometric pattern and a subtle ombré colour transition. I sourced matching sand-coloured shorts and incorporated complementary patchwork to complete the set.
I think the strongest part is that the placement of each patch served two purposes: concealing damage and creating a deliberate design.
Techniques: Creative mending, fabric reclamation, geometric patchwork, measured placement, machine sewing and colour coordination. Colours: Sand, olive green, forest green, earthy brown. #UpcycledFashion #CreativeMending #Patchwork #wtu2026
