2 Button Up Shirts and a pair of Jean Shorts transformed into this unique, stylish outfit. I wanted to maintain the integrity of the collar from the button up shirt so the design evolved around the collar. For me, the idea of up-cycling is to give something a second chance at being used again. With that in mind, the design must be cute, stylish and actually wearable to more than just a few people. Otherwise it will end up in the trash after all.

This garment is a one-of-a-kind upcycled creation, meticulously hand-stitched from a piece of my father's old clothing. The original fabric has been transformed with bleaching, paint splatters, and applied patches to create a striking, fashion-forward look. Adding a truly personal touch, the strapless bra component is made from my high school-era bandana handkerchiefs, weaving a piece of my own history into this bold, reimagined design. It’s a wearable testament to heritage and personal style

I upcycled an oversized men's blazer into a female dress. I used discarded fabric to add the puff sleeves and the fringe at the hem. I also used buttons collected from another garment.

This eight flared panel dress started as a small collection of saved scraps. Some from old projects, some from clothes I made for my daughters, and others simply too beautiful to throw away. When I weaved them together, it felt like stitching bits of memory back into something whole. Everything here is repurposed. For me, upcycling is about noticing the life still left in things we set aside. It’s my way of showing how something discarded can be something worth keeping.

The 'Reimajeaned' Recipe: 2 Preloved Levi's waistbands | Sewn to V edge 1 Preloved pair of Levi's | Used to make the deep V cut 1 Thrifted, but new w/tags Levi jacket | Shortened at hem, sides taken in 2.5 Yards of black selvedge denim fabric | Added to V cut to create wide leg pant 10 Gold vintage metal buttons | Replaced original shank buttons on trucker jacket and added outside of closure. The sum is greater than the whole of its parts.
