This look is part of my project called Sulapa': A Gentle Strength. The idea is inspired by a Bugis philosophy of "Sulapa' Eppa" (literal meaning: square/four sides), talking about natural elements, worldviews, and human principles. This one represents Fire, which is meant to convey the idea of energy, warmth, and a bright spirit. So, I designed this to be a four-in-one look consisting of a midi dress, a sleeveless vest, and a bolero/shrug. • The materials: Leftover cotton, organza, and embroidered tulle from fashion gallery waste combined with an unused Lipa' Sabbe (Bugis handwoven sarong) of my own. • Key construction: Side-seam drawstring gathering, window cut-out sleeve details, and tulle accent.
